Once Upon A Time . . .

From the deserts of Southern California to the Sunset Strip, Jess has been mixing underground music since the 90s rave era. Originally performing under the pseudonym Transit, this LA native and now San Diego based artist mixes a wide range of genres fusing old school with new school as Jess Van Ness. Blurring genre boundaries, Jess likes to paint stories with music and take listeners on an emotional journey with ever changing sonic textures with meaningful music. Jess’ creativity and passion for music allows him to play most times slots; from deep warm up vibes of organic house, to peak time after hours techno and everything in between.

Much of his style is on the darker end of the spectrum with worldly textures, deep grooves, heavy percussion, progressive melodies and big sound. Jess is a big advocate for deep crate digging to find those gems of hidden tracks and white labels from unknown artists.
